codebid.lol began as an experiment in making GitHub repository promotion explicit and auditable.
How it works
When someone submits a public GitHub repository, codebid.lol validates it through GitHub and captures a checkout-time snapshot of its metadata. Stripe handles the payment, and a listing is recorded only after a signed Stripe webhook confirms settlement.
Each repository appears once, using its highest settled bid. The board orders those bids from highest to lowest; stars, forks, language, and description are context, not ranking signals.
The builders board does the same for people. A GitHub username is listed with a snapshot of its followers, stars, and contributions, and its rank is the lifetime total of every settled top-up. Anyone can add to anyone's total.
Listings are paid placement and do not imply endorsement by GitHub, the repository's maintainers, or the developer themselves.
