About codebid.lol

Paid placement for open-source GitHub repositories

codebid.lol is a transparent leaderboard where settled bid amount determines rank. GitHub stars, forks, language, and descriptions sit beside each bid so visitors can judge what the placement is promoting.

How ranking works

  1. 1

    Choose a repository

Paste a public GitHub repository URL.

  2. 2

    Place a bid

Complete a one-time payment through Stripe Checkout.

  3. 3

    Join the board

The signed payment webhook records the settled bid.

A repository appears once, at its highest settled bid. Placement can change whenever another bid settles. Being outbid does not automatically refund an earlier payment.

Data and disclosure

Repository metadata comes from the public GitHub REST API. It is captured when checkout begins, so displayed stars and forks are verified snapshots rather than continuously refreshed analytics.

Payments are processed with Stripe Checkout. A return URL cannot create a listing; only a successfully verified Stripe webhook can record a bid.

Every listing is sponsored placement. codebid.lol is independent of GitHub, and a listing does not imply repository ownership or endorsement.

Frequently asked questions

What is codebid.lol?
codebid.lol is a paid-placement leaderboard for public open-source GitHub repositories. Bid amount determines rank; GitHub stars are shown for context but do not affect placement.
How are repositories ranked?
Each repository is represented by its highest settled bid. Repositories are ordered from the highest bid to the lowest, and rank can change whenever another payment settles.
Does a GitHub star count improve rank?
No. Stars, forks, language, and description help visitors evaluate a repository, but only the settled bid amount determines its position.
How current is the GitHub data?
Repository metadata is retrieved from the GitHub REST API when checkout begins and stored with the bid. It is a verified snapshot, not a continuously refreshed analytics feed.
Does a listing imply GitHub endorsement or repository ownership?
No. codebid.lol is independent of GitHub, and paid placement does not prove ownership, sponsorship, or endorsement by GitHub or the repository maintainers.
